Radio as it used to be – a good mix of weather, traffic & train information, news from around the country and overseas, over a background of contemporary chart music to get you up and about and into the day. Tune in to hear a chat with regular local and overseas guests including: the Mayor of Whitehorse, Aussie George in Boston, Neighbourhood Watch, Victoria Police, the RSPCA and others, addressing issues of importance to local listeners. And not to be missed, the announcement of the Tuesday Breakfast Knucklehead of The Week, awarded to those people or organisations whose public statements or acts of gross stupidity or thoughtlessness leave us gob-smacked!

Crichton’s Country Music Radio Show focuses mainly on Australian performers in the country genre featuring music and CD launches. The show also includes country event news and tracks from the regular Country Music Singles CD and from AMRAP Airit, Blue Shamrock Music and other distribution sources. Michael has been around the folk and country music scene with various hats on for over 50 years.

The Roundabout concept seeks to provide a variety of music in a range of styles and genres, concluding with an hour of diverse jazz in Part 2 from 5 till 6 on Tuesday evenings. Like Jazz For Lunch on Wednesdays at noon, the aim of Part 2 is to provide listenable and enjoyable jazz, often with a particular theme, and with a little history and background thrown in.

Every Wednesday from 7am, Greg King hosts this lively mix of 70’s, 80’s and 90’s classic hits and entertainment news. Greg interviews musicians, guest presenters and playwrights. The show also celebrates birthdays of musicians and features music from our Featured Flashback Year, #1 hits, classic albums and new music. Jazz For Lunch seeks to maintain the tradition set by Max Chadwick and Peter Edwards, and more recently Terry Phibbs, to provide listenable and enjoyable jazz for this prime time slot. The music, which frequently highlights our world class Australian jazz, includes the New Orleans, Dixieland, Big Band Swing, Be Bop, Cool, Hard Bop and Jazz Fusion periods, showing influences of Latin, Classical and Pop / Rock. A little history and background is thrown in and the aim is always to entertain and lift the spirits while appealing to listeners from the jazz world as well as a wider audience. Accordingly, some areas of jazz that would appeal to aficionados are not suitable for this program.

Beginning in 2007, Community Corner is a program designed to keep listeners informed about news, events, history and the achievements of residents and local organisations. It mainly focuses on the Whitehorse-Boroondara and Monash areas, but also includes other areas such as Manningham and Knox. Community Corner also features a wide variety of music to accompany the subject matter; including classical, soundtracks, country and rock.
