Vince Butler

I am an eclectic presenter of Music and Comedy on 3WBC since 1996 and a life member.

Prior to that, I was on 3AW, 3CR and 3RRR and I can play several musical instruments (badly) and I love all forms of music.

My current shows are both on Thursdays: 7am to 10am – Breakfast in Bed and midday to 2pm – I Remember When I Was Young.

Beyond that, I was an I.T. technical professional for 45 years specialising in large/medium businesses/systems, trained in Kendo and Aikido for many decades, is a PADI qualified scuba diver, played competition tennis, was an Umpire at the Australian Tennis Open for many years, reads everything, and watches far too much TV.

Where ever I’ve been, I’ve tried to put back more than I get, so I’ve spent many years on the 3WBC committee. I’ve also served on the committee of the Melbourne Audio club, the Northern Suburbs Tennis Association and the Victorian branch of the Australian Skeptics.

Married, children, dogs, cats, native wildlife, etc rule my life but I enjoy my quiet time with my music on air every week. I try to keep my local content high and my range broad from 1900 (or earlier) through today, classical to mostly pop, basically anything with a tune or not. If I enjoy it, it’ll be put on air.
